Mooi Indie – Beautiful Indies, Indonesian Art Now
An insight into one of Australia’s nearest neighbours, Moo Indie presents the latest contemporary art that is being produced in India today.
Responding to the rich political, social and cultural history, the socially engaged art promises viewers an energetic exhibition. Dynamic and challenging, the range of artworks employ innovative artistic practices that re-evaluate social convention and blur the boundary between traditional and modern India. The development of India in a global world is interrogated and re-evaluated, as artists question themes of human rights, the environment, gender, identity and culture. This exhibition is a refreshing snapshot of India now and what is to come.
