Artist Profile is a proud sponsor of the Flying Arts Alliance: Art for Life Award.
The theme for the 2024 QRAA is Resolution. Artists and society as a whole grapple and confront multiple viewpoints and concepts requiring resolution. Through the creative process, artists take this voyage through differing personal and social lenses to reach a meaningful resolution in their work. This reflects and is relevant to the broader journey of society.
The 2024 winners of the Art for Life award are Bernard Singleton and Simone Arnol for their work Emanate – Yimbi (Basket – to leach out toxins, destress or filter out noise).
After receiving the esteemed Art for Life Award, Simone Arnol and Bernard Singleton commented “Creating art is our way of storytelling woven with truth, culture, history and knowledge. To have work recognised in this way is deeply meaningful; it reassures us and fuels our journey forward, even during the most current challenging times. This acknowledgment not only inspires us but also strengthens our commitment to share this platform with others.
