Borland + Borland
Curator Magda Keaney brings together the diverse practices of two sisters, Polly and Emma Borland, for a dynamic encounter. Though separated geographically – Polly Borland practises in Los Angeles and Emma Borland is based in Melbourne – what is striking is the similar themes that resonate within their distinctive practices.
Inviting the viewer to consider the formal and conceptual practices of Emma’s glass works alongside Polly’s photographic works, the exhibition brings their creative approaches into a cross-disciplinary dialogue. Aiming to surpass the literal intersections that we would take at face value, the exhibition is a refreshing cohesion of two creative minds.
Shedding light on their collaborative exhibition, the two sisters will be in the gallery Friday, 4 December at 5pm for a conversation hour. A great opportunity to hear from the artists themselves.
