Reinstate Lisa Havilah to the Powerhouse
We call on the NSW Government to lift Lisa Havilah’s suspension and reinstate her as Chief Executive of Powerhouse, allowing her to lead the opening of Powerhouse Parramatta in November 2026.
Over the past eight years, Lisa Havilah has led the renewal of the Powerhouse and the creation of Powerhouse Parramatta. She conceived and championed the vision for Western Sydney’s first NSW cultural institution, recognising that one of Australia’s most diverse, dynamic and rapidly growing regions deserved a cultural institution of international significance.
Working alongside the Powerhouse team, Infrastructure NSW, the Trust, Lendlease and communities across Western Sydney, she has helped create an institution that will transform cultural opportunity and leave a lasting legacy for generations.
Across a 30-year career, including leadership roles at Liverpool, Campbelltown, Carriageworks and Powerhouse, she has contributed to Australian cultural life. Her commitment to public service, creative ambition, and community has been unwavering.
We understand Lisa is fully cooperating with the investigation and has always unequivocally denied the allegations against her. We believe Lisa deserves a fair and timely process, and with the opening of Powerhouse Parramatta just weeks away, we call on the NSW Government to act without delay, reinstate Lisa Havilah as Chief Executive and allow her to stand alongside the extraordinary team who have brought this vision to life.
