Issue 19
Melbourne Art Fair
Special Edition
Media Partner of the 2012 Melbourne Art Fair, Issue 19 of ARTIST PROFILE is a Special Edition that focuses on artists exhibiting at the fair. On the cover is internationally renowned Sally Smart, whose work is based upon the principles of painting but extrapolated conceptually and rendered in an unusual selection of media, including collage and cut-outs. We hear from MAF 2012 Commission Artist, Ian Burns, about his robotic-like installation being made as we went press. The issue is a glimpse into the working lives of the artists preparing for the major biennial event of the Australian art world calendar.
