The Inaugural Australian Print Workshop Print Fair
This weekend Saturday 11 October look forward to the Australian Print Workshop’s Inaugural Print Fair, an event celebrating all things print.
Viewers are invited to go behind the scenes and into the print studios, or beyond the gallery walls to visit the artists at their individual Print Fair Stands. With print demonstrations throughout the day, spectators will be able to gain insight into the time-consuming and meticulous processes involved in creating limited edition prints.
The skill and products of this time honoured practice will also be on display at APW Gallery, which will feature a specifically curated ‘Pop Up’ exhibition for the weekend.
“We are thrilled to be opening our doors and unlocking some of the mysteries of fine art printmaking”, says Anne Virgo, Director, Australian Print Workshop. “All the artists involved have been supported by APW at some stage in their career and we are delighted to continue the connection through our inaugural Print Fair. This is a wonderful opportunity for the public to see an exciting range of contemporary original limit edition prints and meet the artists who created them”.
Discussing their inspirations, techniques and materials will be 14 artists at the stands including; Elizabeth Barnett; Lauren Carter; Jazmina Cininas; Marisa Corral; Louise Donovan; Jonathan Guthmann; Kate Hudson; Kyoko Imazu; Deborah Klein; Nina Magee; Ellie Malin; Stephanie Rampton; Tom Sevil; and Georgia Thorpe.
Established in 1981, APW has built a reputation for producing and attracting leading artists in fine printmaking.
The Fair is a special opportunity to engage with contemporary Australian artist printmakers, view the diverse and unique range of prints as well as buy affordable original limited edition works.
