A farewell to Colin Lanceley at the National Art School
This Friday 20 February a number of speakers, friends and artists will pay tribute to Colin Lanceley AO in recognition of his colourful contribution to the cultural life of Australia.
The farewell will be hosted at the National Art School in the Cell block theatre, a place of enduring relevance to Lanceley’s life from his beginnings as an artist, and later his involvement as chairman of the advisory board.
In conversation with Artist Profile a few weeks before he passed away, Colin Lanceley commented on the foundational role of the school to his career stating “I loved being a student at the National Art School. It was the opening of my life, really, because I was learning what I wanted to learn in a milieu that was created by a whole lot of artists.”
The full interview and feature with Colin Lanceley is in the current Artist Profile, Issue 30.
All are welcome to attend to what will be a moving farewell to one of Australia’s landmark artists.
